Wildlife

The Department is currently compiling existing wildlife information related to FERC relicensing of the Oroville facilities.  This includes management plans, endangered species recovery plans, published studies, survey data, mitigation monitoring information and database searches.  Current fieldwork is limited to vernal pool assessment within the Thermalito forebay and afterbay reservoirs for a proposed survey of fairy and/or tadpole shrimp. This information will be incorporated into the initial scoping document environmental assessment.  DWR staff person Dave Bogener, Environmental Specialist IV, is overseeing the gathering of this existing information.
