         Cultural                     

           IThe department is currently compiling cultural resources information related to FERC relicensing of the Oroville facilities. This includes background research, oral interviews, tribal and agency consultations/coordination, field surveys, data analysis, and reporting. This information will be used to satisfy federal laws such as the Federal Power Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and state laws such as the California Environmental Quality Act. DWR staff person Janis Offermann, Senior Environmental Planner, is overseeing the gathering of this information.
